Inspired by a combination of arts - drawing and music writing, all along with mind-expanding readings, Stardust Beings was conceived over the past three years of countless hours of studio experimentation. The sounds on it, pretty much just like every other thing in the universe, are unstoppably mutating from one form into another. Rising and falling. Constructing for the sole sake of destruction. Starting and restarting. Germinating just to die next.
Challenged to create something new, what differentiates the tone of my debut album is the fact of having short breaks - if any. Drops out of a busy moment, trying to avoid the g'old formula 'break-rise-drop' every now and then - which by the way works fine and most certainly have not been forgotten. Also, loads of squelchy bubbles and glitched percussion get constantly trapped by dry & fat basslines. Obscure detuned leads meet bright and obvious melodies. But above all and despite the bpm or whichever sub-genre it fits into, the piece definitely seeks psychedelia all the way.

THE MOOD FOR THE ALBUM...
Striving to blend night elements into progressive oriented tracks and highly influenced by Ireland's psychedelic music scene, the mood gets darker and faster as the album goes on. Kicking off with a prog-groovysh feel, Nebulae presents a clean track and a melodic progressive vibe. It soon gets a bit darker and definitely straighter as Chaotic Protostar kicks in (first a collaboration with Adults & Basstards, then a solo track). The following one just Keep Rolling with a straight bassline as an invite to the fullonish From Where We Begin (with Squee) that takes the scene next. Then two tunes setting foot on fullon vibes are Main Sequence and Stardust Beings - the latter a collab with Dexter Psychedelic and Smuga. After peaking at 144 bpm, there is another collab track made with my Irish friend Sionnach for On The Verge with a bright-darkish vibe. On the other side of the edge, a collab with legend Lah Narrad and Hypknotoad, Supernova Type I sets the tone for the last trance music of the album with just about enough darkness. Finally, downtempo bonus track Gamma-ray Bursts peacefully closes the cycle that gave roots for this work.
...INSPIRED BY STAR-STUFF
The lifecycle of a star (re)starts with a cloud of hydrogen atoms cluttered somewhere in the universe, what can be called a Nebulae. It forms an ether where stars might once begin to be shaped. When too much star stuff get together by the gravitational forces, it condensates into an early stage of a star. But before that while the centre of mass is not yet hot enough for hydrogen fusion we call it a Protostar. Under the right conditions, it then becomes a Main Sequence star - our beloved and warm Sun is an example. A fraction of those main sequence stars that had spinning disks of flattened hydrogen clouds would eventually coalesce with the main sequence star into a planetary system. This is From Where We Begin. Stardust Beings - just like any other possible thing with a material body are composed by star-stuff. Even a coke machine or a cigarette butt are made out of atoms that came from a star and have been recycled a thousand of times. Hundreds of millions of years down the line, a star will eventually get to a point when it stands On The Verge of its existence as a celestial body. Star systems once constituted by two stars would end on a Supernova Type I explosion before giving origin to a black hole - sometimes a neutron star prior. But before that it will spend another while - from ten milliseconds to a few hours - emitting light particles into all directions of the immensity of the cosmos with its Gamma-ray Bursts.

Something about the journey so far
Since I've started this magical path into learning music on all ends (from theory to after producing through DJying), I've met with incredible people who shortened and enriched my apprenticeship and made Animistic and this project a reality. I've taken private lessons with Alex Story more than once on his educational project Futurephonic (which is incredible amazing, just look for anything they put out, it will be great). Yellow DJ Academy/Audio Institute from my hometown Curitiba have helped me first with basic DJ lessons back in 2010 as well as with Edson Borth for private tuition on mixing & mastering at some point in 2013, all at Yellow studios. Next big helper was Walton's New School of Music in Dublin, where I took music theory & piano lessons. I would definitely mention online tuition from Futurephonic (Tristan's live masterclass as well as having access to top notch tutorials from E-Clip, Protoculture, Bonen, etc) and from PsiloCybian. The Psy Producers Forum on Facebook is another amazing source of content that has lent its share of help on this project. Last but not the least, every collab I've ever done and ever music head to whom I have discussed music producing have helped a lot (special thanks here to Pedro Squee, Sionnach, Lah Narrad, Dexter Psychedelic, Digital Specie, Fat Basstard, Interpeace, Nacif Seleme and many more other nice fellas I've worked with). The cover art was conceived while working on the mixing of the first tracks. First drawn with a black point pen on a white paper, later brought to the computer and styled with the help of Sotols Art (fractals and 3d exploring) and my wife Fernanda (insights, final touches and editing).
The theme - initially a totally different story - have changed into a tale of the raise and fall of a binary star system, inspired by some of my past two years of readings - specially Cosmos (Carl Sagan) and Sapiens (Yuval Noah Harari). Being a recently addicted reader, these two books amazed me beyond expectations and they've shaped much of what I have been these past couple of years.
